Have you ever wondered what Her Majesty enjoys at Christmas time? The Queen has offered a rare glimpse into the royal kitchens at Sandringham House in Norfolk during the festive period. Royal pastry chefs will be busy making over 1000 mince pies from two different recipes; one with puff pastry and another with a flaked almond topping. The royal recipe also includes port, brandy, rum and sherry along with golden sultanas and currants.
There’s much more to it than just mince pies, though – other treats enjoyed by the Royal Family include jammy dodgers, gingerbread men, chocolate roulade and more.
You might not quite have enough people round to get through 1000 mince pies, but your kitchen can still be fit for the Queen with the help of By Design.
